Jeff Bezos the CEO of Amazon.com is currently building a clock that will keep time for 10,000 years.  Yes you heard that right a 10,000 year clock.  Bezos said that he is building the clock to be a symbol to encourage people to have a long view of their lives and the progress that humanity can make over time.

It’s certainly interesting to think about 10,000 years, and if you believe in God or some sort of afterlife then you need to be thinking long term.  Most people I know only think about the here and now of life, some have a little broader perspective, but if there really is a God then having a longer, and more eternal view of your life is the most important thing you can do.

So do you believe in life after death?  And if you do, do you know where will you be in 10,000 years?

Think Through It – Others

Others

The great paradox in life is that the more you live for yourself, the less satisfied yourself will be, but the more you live for others, the more satisfied you will be.  It shouldn’t be this way, it should be that living for yourself brings yourself satisfaction, but that never works.  True satisfaction is only found when someone lives for God, and for other people.

When Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment he gave two, “Love the Lord your God with all you heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.”

Jesus of course modeled this, because even though he is God, he made himself a servant.

And because you were created by God and created for God, you will never find satisfaction until you follow the example of Christ and live for God and for others.

Who are you living for?  Where does your attention go?

Who can you serve today? And how can you be more faithful to God?

I’m Jason Dees encouraging you to Think Through It.
