One of my favorite narratives in the Bible is the story of Moses leading the people of Israel through the Red Sea. The Hebrew people had been in bondage in Egypt for hundreds of years, and finally after ten powerful signs from the Lord, Pharaoh agreed to free the people. So, the Hebrew nation left Egypt setting out for Canaan, but then Pharaoh changed his mind. He sent his whole army to corner the Hebrews at the Red Sea. The people thought that they were doomed until in a moment of miraculous grace God parted the waters of the Red Sea giving the Hebrew people a way of salvation, and later brought the water back together destroying the entire Egyptian army. In this story we see that the judgment of God is very real, but we also see that God will provide a way of salvation for his people. The good news of Christianity is that you can become one of God’s people through faith in Jesus Christ.

I’m Jason Dees, encouraging you to think through it.
