John McEnroe

John McEnroe is arguably one of the greatest tennis players of his generation. He won 16 Grand Slam tennis titles. The peak of his success came in the 1984 Wimbledon finals where he beat his long time rival Jimmy Connors in only 80 minutes. The other day I was listening to him in an interview where he said looking back on 1984, “I was 25 years old and I had the world by the tail. I was the best tennis player in the world, and yet I wanted more. I wanted to be connected to something bigger.” You see, deep down we have a desire to be connected to something bigger than ourselves, and that desire is only rightly fulfilled when we are connected to God. You see, ultimately your relationship with God is the most important thing about you, and a relationship with Him is the only thing that will fulfill you.

I’m Jason Dees, encouraging you to think through it.
